Notes New Neighbors, Welcome!

If you are a new neighbor we would like to welcome you to the neighborhood. Let us know you are here, fill out the registration form.

Changing the Exterior of Your Home

Want to add a new fence to your home? Thinking of painting your house magenta? Please remember that the Covenants require that anything done to alter the exterior of your home needs prior approval from the HOA.

Front yard landscaping, house paint, fences, and new front doors are just a few examples of items that need prior approval. Those who fail to submit an approval request before proceeding will be fined and will, in most cases, be forced to reverse or remove the alteration.

Requests may be submitted through the website.

Parking (this goes for Bus Drop-Offs as well)

Please do not park on the street. If you must park on the street, do so for a short period and be courteous to your neighbors. Do not block driveways or right of ways. You are not allowed to park opposite to a vehicle already parked or immediately across from a driveway.

Home Maintenance: Fall. Keep your home warm!

- Home sealing: If you add up all the hidden air leaks in your home, they can equal a hole the size of an open window. Leaks lead to higher energy bills by making your system work harder. This makes home sealing the first and most important step to reducing energy costs. Sealing air leaks and adding insulation will keep warm air inside where it belongs and help your equipment perform more efficiently. Pay special attention to your attic and basement; the biggest gaps and cracks are often found there.

- Thermostat use: Use a programmable thermostat to regulate your home's temperature. Programmable thermostats save energy by offering four convenient, pre-programmed temperature settings that lower the temperature when you are away and raise it when you return. When used properly, a programmable thermostat can save as much as $150 every year on your bills.

- Equipment maintenance: Dirt and neglect are the top causes of heating and cooling system failure. Schedule a fall check-up of your heating system with a licensed contractor. Also, clean or change your system's air filter once a month.

Discussion Forums

It is common that few people are involved with their Home Owners Association (HOA).

Some of us only realize we have a HOA when we have to pay the annual fees or because we receive an invitation to comply with the covenants.

Wouldn't be great if we could create a stronger association? If we could have a community where we would know, care and support each other?

This web site can help and that is why we have created this forum where all the Home Owners of Hunters Run can post messages and interact in a safe environment.

Give it a try, read what the others are saying, add comments or start a new topic. Participate!
