Forsyth County Returns to Non-Drought Schedule for Outdoor Water Use

Residents allowed to water on designated days

The state of Georgia has returned to a non-drought schedule for outdoor water use. Accordingly, Forsyth County residents can resume their outdoor water use following the non-drought schedule. Under this schedule, outdoor water use is allowed three days a week on assigned days.

Odd numbered addresses (ending with the number 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9) may use outdoor water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Even numbered addresses (ending with the number 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 or no number) may use outdoor water on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Outdoor water use on Fridays is still not allowed.

Residents may water at any time during their assigned days, however landscape watering is discouraged between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. because of its limited effectiveness.

Neighborhood Watch Information

As everyone knows, Teenagers are now out of school for the summer.  This often leads to mischief that actually causes damage to property.  We have had several Entering Automobile incidents in the County in recent weeks.  In all of these incidents the vehicles were left unlocked in the driveways or roadways with valuables in view from the outside.  We have also had several incidents of damage to pool and commons areas.  We recommend following a few simple precautions to help reduce the possibility of becoming a victim of crime.

Please be vigilant and keep your vehicle(s) locked at all times, and remove any electronics or items of value from plain view.  Most entering auto incidents the Sheriff’s Office responds to are not cars that have actually been "broken" into; the thief simply opens an unlocked door and removes any items within the vehicle.

Home Maintenance Tasks for June

Clean and seal decks. Ideally, you'll need three consecutive warm, sunny days. On day one, dry out the deck. Apply deck cleaner and scrub the deck on the second day and let it dry 24 hours. On the third day, apply deck sealer.

Hire a certified chimney sweep to inspect and clean chimneys. Doing this task now instead of the fall allows plenty of time for repairs before the next heating season. It's also easier to schedule a sweep.

Wash the exterior of your house, using ordinary garden hose pressure and a mild detergent. Beware of the pressure washers -- they are powerful enough to force water under the siding where it may encourage mildew and rot.

Caulk exterior joints around window and doors.

Clean lint from the entire clothes dryer vent system, from the dryer to the exterior vent cap.

Inspect and repair or repaint all patio and deck furniture.

Check operation of attic fans and roof-mounted turbine vents.

Changing the Exterior of Your Home

Want to add a new fence to your home? Thinking of painting your house magenta? Please remember that the Covenants require that anything done to alter the exterior of your home needs prior approval from the HOA.

Front yard landscaping, house paint, fences, and new front doors are just a few examples of items that need prior approval. Those who fail to submit an approval request before proceeding will be fined and will, in most cases, be forced to reverse or remove the alteration.

Requests may be submitted through the website.

Dues

There are still many of your who've not paid your annual HOA dues, and many who have short-paid, as well. It's critical that you submit your payment ASAP in order to avoid costly late charges, and, if permanently ignored, a lien against your property.

Your annual dues provide for common area lawn maintenance, electricity for both the front entrance and street lamps, and many other important items that help make our neighborhood an attractive, safe place to live.

So please, in order to avoid further fines and penalties, please pay your HOA dues today.

Discussion Forums

It is common that few people are involved with their Home Owners Association (HOA).

Some of us only realize we have a HOA when we have to pay the annual fees or because we receive an invitation to comply with the covenants.

Wouldn't be great if we could create a stronger association? If we could have a community where we would know, care and support each other?

This web site can help and that is why we have created this forum where all the Home Owners of Hunters Run can post messages and interact in a safe environment.
